Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled JIRA Cloud Administrator / Developer to support and enhance our Atlassian ecosystem. This role requires hands-on configuration, customization, and plugin development experience across JIRA and the wider Atlassian suite. The ideal candidate will be responsible for endtoend software delivery, working across both greenfield and brownfield projects, while ensuring the JIRA platform remains secure, stable, and optimized.

This is a 100% onsite role in Phoenix, AZ.



Essential Skills (Must Have)

  • Hands-on experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA Cloud, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Strong expertise in JIRA configuration and customization
  • Experience building role-based application management (RBAC)
  • Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications
  • Familiarity with Code & Release Management tools (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Experience compiling and analyzing development and operational bug reports
  • Experience installing and upgrading Atlassian products and plugins
  • Application deployment experience:
    • Java-based applications
    • Standalone custom applications
    • COTS products
  • Atlassian plugin development experience
  • Strong knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Demonstrated experience working in Unix/Linux environments



Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Cloud administration and operational support experience
  • Experience integrating JIRA with enterprise tools and platforms
  • Experience supporting large, enterprise-scale JIRA implementations



Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, administer, and support JIRA Cloud environments
  • Deliver software end-to-end from inception through production
  • Design, develop, and implement custom JIRA solutions
  • Configure JIRA workflows, fields, screens, dashboards, and permissions
  • Develop, maintain, and support JIRA plugins and add-ons
  • Integrate JIRA with other enterprise tools and systems
  • Coordinate with the primary JIRA Administrator to:
    • Plan, schedule, and implement JIRA and plugin upgrades
    • Communicate changes per established policies and procedures
  • Monitor JIRA databases and support data copies from PROD to TEST environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve JIRA configuration, performance, and stability issues
  • Train end-users on JIRA functionality during deployments and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and implement business requirements
  • Mentor team members and help shape platform best practices
  • Ensure the JIRA environment is secure, stable, compliant, and optimized
