Network Design Specialist

Description

We are looking for a Network Design Specialist to support infrastructure planning and technical design efforts in Nokomis, Florida. This Long-term Contract position focuses on developing accurate network layouts, producing clear engineering documentation, and contributing to fiber and switching environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of network architecture principles along with experience using drafting and design software to translate requirements into detailed infrastructure plans.

Responsibilities:

Develop detailed network design drawings and infrastructure layouts using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or comparable platforms.

Create and maintain technical diagrams, documentation packages, and visual network maps that accurately reflect existing and planned environments.

Support the design of fiber-based network infrastructure, including rack arrangements, port assignments, and physical connectivity planning.

Apply networking knowledge to define switch placement, IP addressing structures, and equipment relationships within infrastructure designs.

Collaborate with engineering and project stakeholders to turn technical requirements into organized, build-ready documentation.

Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established network design standards.

Assist with updates to network records and infrastructure mapping as project requirements evolve over time.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with computer-aided design or drafting software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or similar applications.
Working knowledge of core networking concepts such as switches, IP addressing, ports, rack layouts, and fiber environments.
Proven ability to produce technical documentation, network diagrams, and infrastructure maps with a high degree of accuracy.
Familiarity with fiber switch environments and the physical planning considerations associated with network deployments.
Ability to interpret technical requirements and convert them into clear visual and written design documentation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when managing drawings, diagrams, and engineering records.
