Job Overview: The Technical Sales & Support Engineer role is a full-time position based on-site in Agawam, MA. This position supports the technical lifecycle of industrial products by providing expert sales support and field service, both remotely and in person. Responsibilities include system recommendations, real-time technical troubleshooting, customer training, on-site visits, and management of service documentation. Collaboration across Engineering, Quality, and Production teams is essential to ensure technical solutions meet organizational standards. Domestic and international travel may be required for approximately 20% of activities.
Responsibilities: - Support the sales team in recommending appropriate solutions to customers.
- Develop and implement customer satisfaction metrics and improvement programs.
- Provide technical support for promotional sales programs.
- Create product literature and marketing materials.
- Train new sales staff and customers on product technical aspects.
- Travel as a technical resource for training and new opportunities.
- Deliver technical support via phone and email to ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on company and competitor products to provide strategic insights.
- Develop and deliver customer training, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and trial installations.
- Manage customer returns and RMAs, communicating findings to engineering and quality teams to drive product improvement.
- Support customers in product use, operation, and maintenance.
- Communicate customer requirements clearly to engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Analyze testing data and reports with engineering to ensure products meet performance specifications.
- Contribute to engineering product plans and assist product development across departments.
- Support initiatives to improve existing products and define service requirements for new products.
- Assist in developing field trial specifications and selecting test sites in coordination with Quality and Product Engineering.
Qualifications: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
- Ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly and communicate them clearly.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and strong multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including patience and teamwork.
- Experience authoring technical documents for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to read and understand SolidWorks and AutoCAD drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
- Relevant experience in industrial diesel and gas engines, or application engineering preferred.
- Multi-lingual abilities are a plus.
Education & Experience: - B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics preferred) or 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
Physical Demands: - Regular standing, walking, and stair use.
- Ability to move equipment up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 10 lbs. while navigating stairs.
- Stamina for short and long-distance travel.
- Visual precision for close inspections and color differentiation.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
