Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Developer / Data Analyst to join our Claims Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, data analysis, and Agile delivery and a proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and document requirements into clear Business Requirements Documents.
- Translate requirements into technical design artifacts, including data mapping, analysis, user stories, flow diagrams, test plans, use cases, and scenarios.
- Partner with LOB stakeholders to envision and deliver solutions that address defined problems and comply with bank standards and policies.
- Assess impacts of application changes, identify integration points, and contribute to end-to-end solution design.
- Develop technical design artifacts for data procedures and workflows associated with applications.
- Build ad hoc and canned reports to meet Technology and LOB needs.
- Support users and development teams with application data testing to validate functional and system requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience, preferably in financial services. 3-5 years of Agile experience.
- Proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, including packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, materialized views, sequences, and database objects.
- Strong data architecture understanding with advanced data analysis and exploration skills.
- Expertise in SQL tuning, partitioning, performance optimization, and indexing.
- Experience designing schemas and tables, logical and physical modeling, normalization and denormalization.
- Ability to analyze Oracle performance reports (SQL trace, tkprof, Tuning Advisor, ADDM) and recommend improvements.
- Experience with ETL processes and data workflows.
- Hands-on with SDLC tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, and Wiki.
- Experience with source control tools: Bitbucket/Git, Subversion, Perforce, or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across distributed teams and time zones in a changing Agile environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred) or Power BI.
- Exposure to Python, Hadoop, and Gen AI/ML.
- Financial services or banking industry experience.
