Role Overview
We are seeking a mid to senior-level Developer with a Data Analyst background for our Claims Technology team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, preferably in the financial industry, and a minimum of 3-5 years working with agile methodologies. This role involves close collaboration with business and technology leaders to deliver technical solutions. The position requires strong data mining, data quality control, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and create Business Requirements Documents.
- Translate requirements into technical design artifacts, including data mapping, analysis, story writing, flow diagrams, and test plans.
- Understand stakeholder needs to envision and create solutions to solve business problems.
- Catalog functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Determine the impact of application modifications and enhancements, assisting with the identification of integration points and end-to-end solution design.
- Develop technical design artifacts for data procedures and workflows.
- Build ad-hoc and canned reports to serve technology and line-of-business needs.
- Assist users and development teams with application data testing to validate functional and system requirements.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with 3-5 years in an agile environment.
- Demonstrated experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, and Wiki, along with knowledge of the SDLC.
- Strong understanding of Data Architecture with robust data analysis and exploration skills.
- Expertise in Oracle SQL/PLSQL programming for high-performance database services.
- Proficiency with SQL query tuning, partitioning, performance optimization, and indexing.
- Skilled in using Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and other database objects.
- Experience with database schema and table design (logical/physical, normalization/denormalization).
- Ability to analyze Oracle reports (e.g., SQL trace, tkprof, ADDM) to suggest improvements.
- Experience with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes.
- Familiarity with source control tools such as BitBucket/GIT or Subversion (SVN).
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Exposure to Python, Hadoop, and Gen AI/ML concepts.
- Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
