Role Overview
This role supports a large Oracle Health and Cerner Millennium ecosystem across multiple clinical domains. The Systems Architect will provide Cerner architecture expertise with a focus on system design, integrations, and enterprise standardization. This position supports hospital construction, optimization, and migration initiatives and partners with clinical, technical, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general Cerner Millennium architectural knowledge.
- Support discovery and high-level solution design for Cerner initiatives.
- Design scalable solutions across multiple Cerner domains.
- Support multi-hospital standardization strategies.
- Collaborate with domain owners, clinical teams, and IT partners.
- Design and document interface and integration requirements.
- Create architecture artifacts and data flow diagrams.
- Identify architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
Experience: 8+ years of overall systems or architecture experience. Strong experience with Cerner Millennium is required.
Technical Skills:- Proficient in multiple Cerner modules (e.g., Radiology, Emergency Dept, Provider Documentation, Orders, Nursing, Core, CareAware, Surgery).
- Solid integration knowledge (HL7, SFTP, API).
- Experience with Health Connect interface engine and HL7 v2.x message structures (ORM, ORU, RDE, ADT).
- Knowledge of CCL (Cerner Command Language), Discern Analytics, and Oracle Unified Analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience working in large, complex healthcare organizations.
- Experience migrating hospitals to Cerner and supporting acquisitions or system conversions.
- Experience with cloud-hosted Cerner Millennium environments.
- FHIR API experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and technical teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $85.00 and $97.50 per hour. Please note that the compensation details are subject to change and may be dependent on a variety of factors.
