Description
We are looking for a skilled Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will provide essential technical support to end users, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. This role offers the opportunity to troubleshoot issues, maintain IT equipment, and deliver outstanding customer service while contributing to the organization's technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Offer direct technical assistance to users, resolving hardware, software, and peripheral issues efficiently.
Perform password resets, address account lockouts, and resolve application errors while ensuring user satisfaction.
Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications to maintain optimal system performance.
Conduct routine inspections of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, addressing any maintenance needs promptly.
Diagnose and repair faulty hardware components to ensure minimal downtime.
Investigate and resolve basic network connectivity problems, including Wi-Fi and shared drive access.
Ensure all devices are securely connected to the organization's network and domain.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, support requests, and resolutions for reporting and analysis purposes.
Monitor recurring technical issues and escalate them to senior IT staff for long-term solutions.
Uphold security protocols by ensuring antivirus and endpoint protection tools are active and updated.
Requirements
Proficiency in Windows operating systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix patching processes and familiarity with Active Directory.
Understanding of networking concepts, including IP configurations and domain setups.
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to IT support.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow and prior experience in IT help desk support is preferred.
