OverviewWe are seeking a
Junior-Mid level Scrum Master to support an Agile delivery team within a financial services environment. This role supports a squad of approximately
5 developers and 2 business analysts and operates primarily in a
Scrum framework.
In addition to traditional Scrum Master responsibilities, this role includes
light financial tracking and reporting, making it ideal for a Scrum Master who is comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and delivery metrics.
This is a
contract-to-hire opportunity, with clear salary expectations established upfront to ensure a smooth conversion.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as Scrum Master for an Agile delivery team using Scrum as the primary framework
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews)
- Act as a servant leader who helps the team collaborate effectively and continuously improve
- Partner closely with developers, BAs, and product stakeholders
- Work with Jira Align to track work, delivery progress, and reporting
- Support financial tracking responsibilities, including:
- Pulling projections and reports
- Reviewing team spend (fixed vs. flex)
- Performing basic Excel calculations and analysis
- Coordinate with offshore resources during morning overlap hours (no after-hours requirement)
- Help the team grow, mature, and adapt within the Scrum framework
Must-Have Qualifications- 2-6 years of experience as a Scrum Master (junior to mid-level)
- Hands-on experience running Scrum teams (Scrum is the primary framework)
- Experience using Jira Align
- Comfort working with Excel (reporting, calculations, basic analysis)
- Strong communication skills and a charismatic, team-oriented presence
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Cleveland
- Willingness to align on salary expectations upfront for contract-to-hire conversion
Certifications:- Required if closer to the junior end (~2 years experience)
- Optional for candidates with 4+ years of experience
Education:- No degree requirement as long as the candidate can perform the role effectively
Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience in financial services or wealth management environments
- Prior exposure to investment or wealth platforms
- Experience working with offshore development teams
- Familiarity with Kanban or SAFe (Scrum remains the focus)
- Background in environments outside financial services (manufacturing, etc.) is acceptable if Scrum experience is strong
