Summary

Job Title: Project IT Manager

Location: St. Petersburg, FL Hybrid

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: $42 - $52/HR (W2 Only)

Job/Role Description:


  • Manage and coordinate telecommunications and infrastructure projects supporting generation, transmission, solar, facilities, real estate, and regional enterprise IT initiatives.
  • Oversee approximately 60 active, primarily smaller-scope projects simultaneously, ensuring work progresses efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate project scope, schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of project communications, decisions, updates, and action items in JIRA.
  • Collaborate with telecommunications, engineering, field, implementation, and business teams to schedule and execute work within established timelines.
  • Provide concise weekly stakeholder updates summarizing project status, upcoming work, risks, dependencies, and anticipated activities for the next two to four weeks.
  • Partner with product owners to answer questions, remove obstacles, and support successful project delivery.
  • Plan, facilitate, and document customer kickoff meetings and project-planning discussions.
  • Coordinate field work, site visits, construction windows, outage windows, and technician activities when required.
  • Develop a working understanding of the client s operating environment and the telecommunications products and services provided to internal business customers.
  • Track and report project budgets, forecasts, estimates, purchase requests, invoices, and cost variances.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and dependencies early and escalate concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support projects throughout the client s Florida service territory based on business needs.
  • Attend occasional customer meetings, field visits, and project sites within Florida.

Required Qualifications


  • Substantial project management experience supporting infrastructure, utility, telecommunications, construction, facilities, generation, transmission, solar, renewable energy, or related projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, milestones, and action items.
  • Proficiency in tracking and reporting project budgets, forecasts, estimates, invoices, purchase requests, and cost variances.
  • Experience planning, facilitating, and documenting project meetings, including decisions, risks, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise updates to leadership, engineering teams, field personnel, product owners, and internal customers.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to coordinate field work, site visits, construction activities, outages, or technician assignments.
  • Valid driver s license and ability to travel occasionally within Florida.
  • Ability to work onsite three days per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday required onsite days.
  • Ability to attend in-office staff meetings every Tuesday morning in St. Petersburg, FL.
  • Ability to perform physical duties associated with field visits, including lifting and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while working in field environments.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Project management experience within the telecommunications or IT industry.
  • Experience supporting telecommunications service delivery in utility, field, construction, or enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Primavera P6, and Business Objects.
  • Familiarity with data networking technologies, including switches and routers.
  • Familiarity with transport equipment such as Ciena or SEL ICON.
  • Familiarity with radio-frequency technologies, including Cambium equipment or point-to-point microwave.
  • Familiarity with DC power systems, including -48VDC and 130VDC.
  • Familiarity with fiber-optic construction and single-mode fiber terminations.
