Primary Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Model: Hybrid
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Pay: $65 - $70 per hour

Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager / Senior Technology Project Manager to lead a large-scale enterprise data platform modernization and migration initiative.

This role will drive the retirement of a legacy Hadoop ecosystem and coordinate the migration of applications, data assets, workloads, and platform services to strategic target-state platforms, including cloud and modern enterprise data environments.

The ideal candidate brings significant experience managing complex enterprise technology migrations, infrastructure transformation programs, platform decommissioning, and multi-year initiatives involving numerous technical teams and senior stakeholders.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring someone who can manage the program from strategy through execution while navigating technical dependencies, risk, financial governance, executive reporting, and organizational change.

Required Qualifications



  • 10+ years of project, program, or portfolio management experience within large-scale enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong Technical Program Manager or senior technology project management background.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise migration programs.
  • Experience managing infrastructure transformation, data platform modernization, cloud migration, application migration, or data center/platform exit initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs with multiple technical workstreams and dependencies.
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar programs involving senior executives, technology teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, data platforms, infrastructure, and cloud transformation.
  • Expertise in program governance, risk management, dependency management, financial management, and executive reporting.
  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with enterprise Hadoop migration or retirement programs.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem technologies such as:

    • Hadoop/HDFS
    • Hortonworks
    • Cloudera
    • MapR
    • Hive
    • Spark
    • Oozie

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Microsoft Azure, AWS, or enterprise private-cloud environments.
  • Understanding of enterprise data engineering, ETL modernization, data governance, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience leading large-scale infrastructure decommissioning, application retirement, or technology rationalization initiatives.
  • Experience managing technology risk associated with legacy and end-of-life platforms.
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent professional certification.
