Job Summary

We are seeking a Workday Payroll Technical Analyst to support the implementation of Workday Payroll for our UK operations and provide ongoing technical ownership and optimization of the platform.

⚠️ Note: This is NOT a payroll processing role — the focus is strictly on technical configuration, integrations, compliance enablement, and system optimization within Workday.

You will collaborate with HR, Payroll Operations, Finance, and HR Tech teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-performing payroll solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end implementation of Workday Payroll (UK), including:

  • Configuration
  • Testing & validation
  • Deployment

• Configure and maintain:

  • Earnings & deductions
  • Taxation rules
  • Pay groups & payroll calendars
  • Payroll frameworks & retro processing

• Design and manage integrations:

  • Inbound/outbound interfaces
  • Benefits providers
  • Finance systems
  • Time tracking and third-party systems

• Troubleshoot system issues:

  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Implement fixes via configuration or integrations

• Partner with cross-functional teams to:

  • Translate business requirements into Workday solutions
  • Ensure alignment with UK payroll regulations

• Maintain compliance with:

  • UK statutory payroll requirements
  • Reporting and audit standards

• Support Workday releases:

  • Impact analysis
  • Regression testing
  • Feature deployments

• Build and maintain:

  • Reports & dashboards
  • Calculated fields
  • Data validation processes

• Identify automation opportunities and improve workflows

• Develop technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer

Required Skills & Experience

• ✅ Strong experience in Workday Payroll implementation/support

• ✅ Hands-on expertise in:

  • Payroll configuration (earnings, deductions, taxation, calendars, etc.)

• ✅ Experience with Workday integrations:

  • EIB, Core Connectors (required)
  • Studio (preferred)

• ✅ Solid understanding of:

  • UK payroll legislation & compliance (system-side)

• ✅ Experience supporting:

  • Workday production environments
  • Releases and system changes

• ✅ Expertise in:

  • Workday reporting
  • Calculated fields
  • Data validation

• ✅ Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

• ✅ Ability to collaborate across:

  • HR, Finance, and IT teams

• ✅ Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in global or distributed teams
• Prior exposure to multi-country payroll environments
• Workday certifications (nice to have)
