Publishing Analyst III

Location: West Conshohocken, PA
Salary: $30.00 USD Hourly - $35.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Publishing Analyst III
Remote, 6 month W2 contract with potential to hire on permanently

This will be a 35-hour work week - must be ok with this.

Responsibilities:

• Lead content analysis, project initiation, management, and execution.
• Oversee production and curation of internal content, third-party content, translations, books, journals, adjuncts, reference radiographs, and other assigned products from inception to completion.
• Audit job requests to ensure all required specifications are available; coordinate with requestors and stakeholders as needed.
• Define metadata requirements and create mapping documentation for web and subscription platform teams.
• Perform quality assurance and collaborate with IT operations to automate content validation.

• Define and enhance content production workflows, including cross-departmental processes.
• Contribute to system enhancement backlogs by analyzing current practices and recommending improvements.
• Lead enhancement requests for IT applications and software supporting publishing operations and process optimization.
• Identify new operational opportunities and lead complex projects that drive efficiency and quality.

• Define project scope, tasks, and resource requirements; manage resource allocation.
• Develop, lead, and execute project plans.
• Coordinate project staff and manage project budgets.
• Plan and schedule project timelines; track deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Monitor and report project progress, issues, and solutions to stakeholders.
• Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and oversee enhancements to publishing platforms and content management systems.
• Implement and manage project changes to achieve desired outcomes.
• Conduct project evaluations, lessons learned, and results assessments.

• Recommend vendors, obtain competitive quotes, and negotiate with approved vendors.
• Support the annual budget process, including preparing worksheets and gathering cost data for assigned product lines.
• Develop and maintain departmental initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, enhance workflows, or improve quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in digital publishing and content analysis.
• 5+ years of experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., MarkLogic, Alfresco).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in systems or workflow analysis.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-volume environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Expertise in publishing workflows and process improvement.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Proficiency in budget management.
• Strong business acumen.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work diplomatically with customers and vendors.
• Understanding of granular, data-driven publishing versus document-based publishing.
• Proficiency in XML, MathML, XHTML, CSS, and related content-identification technologies.
• Strong curiosity about publishing trends.
• Knowledge of leading project management tools, techniques, and best practices.
• Excellent administrative skills with flexibility and a cooperative attitude.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
