Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of IT Operations, the IT Project Manager will coordinate strategic and tactical assignments across agency-wide technology initiatives. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle-from inception to completion-ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within budget. This role also involves a unique opportunity to help codify and establish standardized project management methodologies in alignment with the agency's PMO.

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

• Full Lifecycle Management: Lead assigned IT projects, coordinating with SCDMV personnel, state/county agencies, and business partners.
• Documentation & Planning: Identify and document project charters, budgets, resource requirements, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Accountability: Establish meeting cadences and track milestones, risk mitigation actions, and task assignments.
• Communication: Produce clear project status updates, reports, and presentation materials for steering committees and strategic planning meetings.
• Methodology Development: Collaborate with IT Management to develop, document, and adopt project planning and implementation standards.
• Project Closure: Conduct timely close-outs with documented lessons learned and finalized essential documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Certification: Active PMP Certification is mandatory.
• Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of professional Project Management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing Enterprise-level IT projects.
• Software Proficiency: At least 1 year of experience with ServiceNow.
• Financial Oversight: At least 3 years of experience with project budgeting.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Public Administration, IT, or a related field.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to lead and influence team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing System Modernization initiatives.
• Prior experience working within State Agencies.
• Proven track record of collaborating with external vendors.
• Considerable diplomacy and tact in high-pressure or stressful situations.
