Job Title: Workday Functional Lead II
Engagement Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months
Location: Madison, WI (onsite at Madison office)
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Position Summary
This role is responsible for serving as the HR Functional Lead for Workday, with a focus on Time, Absence, Payroll, and HCM. The Workday Functional Lead will partner closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure accurate configuration, testing, and deployment aligned with business needs.
The ideal candidate has deep Workday configuration experience, a strong understanding of HCM systems, and the ability to lead functional design decisions while meeting tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead the build of Workday Time and Absence prototype tenants, including migration to Production
- Lead functional design decisions and ensure alignment across the broader Workday HCM ecosystem
- Oversee and execute system and functional testing
- Partner with business subject matter experts to validate requirements and configurations
- Translate unique business needs into effective Workday configurations
- Identify, communicate, and appropriately escalate risks or issues
- Ensure timely delivery of functional components
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience
- Strong experience with Workday HCM, including Time, Absence, and Payroll
- Demonstrated ability to configure Workday to meet complex business requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
