Job Title: Engineering Recruiter - Engineering & ManufacturingJob DescriptionThis role leads full-cycle recruiting for technical and professional positions across engineering, technical, manufacturing, and corporate functions in a rapidly growing organization. You will partner closely with hiring managers and HR to align recruiting priorities with production schedules, program timelines, and engineering milestones, ensuring that critical plant-based and hands-on engineering roles are filled efficiently. In this role, you'll shape talent acquisition, build pipelines in tough markets, and contribute directly to the growth of a dynamic, industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical and professional roles across engineering, technical, and manufacturing, from requisition intake through offer acceptance.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand production schedules, program timelines, and engineering milestones to align recruiting urgency with business deliverables.
- Participate in workforce planning discussions with HR and leadership to anticipate future technical hiring needs and ensure recruiting capacity aligns with growth plans.
- Provide market intelligence on talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive hiring practices to inform hiring strategies.
- Conduct detailed intake meetings to define role scope, required competencies, interview plans, and selection criteria for each opening.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill, plant-based, and hands-on engineering roles in markets where local talent supply may be limited.
- Create and post clear, engaging job descriptions that accurately reflect role requirements and organizational needs.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone and video interviews, and guide candidates through each stage of the interview process with a strong focus on candidate experience.
- Coordinate and schedule assessments and interviews, lead interview discussions, and manage the offer process in partnership with hiring managers and HR.
- Debrief with hiring managers after interviews to calibrate on candidate fit, refine selection criteria, and ensure consistent evaluation standards.
- Collaborate with a Recruiting Coordinator (once hired) to support onboarding activities, offer letters, and other administrative aspects of the hiring process.
- Adapt quickly to evolving hiring priorities while maintaining a customer-service mindset for both candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Track and report key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, and labor costs to continuously optimize hiring efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with EEO, OFCCP, and internal recruiting policies and procedures throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Contribute to employer branding strategies and local outreach campaigns to enhance visibility and attract high-quality candidates.
- Assist with launching and supporting an internship program, including sourcing, selection, and onboarding of interns.
- Support ramp hiring initiatives by building scalable sourcing strategies and managing a high volume of requisitions when needed.
- Partner directly with engineering and operations leaders to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies and build diverse talent pipelines.
- Work with subject matter experts to assess technical competencies and ensure candidates meet the required engineering and manufacturing standards.
- Manage relationships with external staffing agencies and recruiting partners, ensuring alignment with hiring needs and quality expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the broader HR team to support cross-functional projects and priorities, especially when manufacturing needs become urgent.
Essential Skills- 4-7+ years of recruitment experience, primarily focused on technical roles within engineering; some corporate recruiting experience is helpful but not required.
- Proven experience recruiting for engineering roles in manufacturing environments, including manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, and electrical engineering positions.
- Experience recruiting for onsite or plant-based roles with strong sourcing skills and the ability to manage multiple requisitions (for example, 20+ openings at a time).
- Industries such as automotive, mobility, or electric vehicles; experience in industrial manufacturing or heavy equipment sectors (such as aerospace or battery) is also suitable.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies and build diverse talent pipelines for technical and plant-based roles.
- Ability to partner directly with engineering and operations leaders and influence hiring decisions through data, insights, and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Capability to assess technical competencies in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure candidates meet role requirements.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment technologies and a passion for improving and innovating processes to achieve creative and effective talent acquisition goals.
- Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and comfort working within ATS-driven workflows.
- Full-cycle recruiting expertise, including requisition intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
- Solid understanding of basic immigration laws and work authorization or visa requirements as they relate to hiring.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with candidates, hiring managers, and HR partners.
- Strong interviewing, assessment, and candidate relationship management skills, with a focus on delivering a positive candidate experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing competing priorities and shifting hiring needs.
- Experience managing agency partnerships and ensuring they align with internal hiring standards and expectations.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing setting and engaging with managers who have a wide range of working styles and personalities.
- Demonstrated team-player mindset and willingness to collaborate closely with HR and recruitment colleagues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience starting or launching an internship program is a strong plus.
- Experience supporting ramp hiring initiatives and high-volume recruitment is highly beneficial.
- Exposure to automotive, mobility, electric vehicle, industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, aerospace, or battery-related industries.
- Experience working in either corporate in-house recruiting or agency environments; candidates from agency backgrounds are welcome.
- Familiarity with modern applicant tracking systems and related recruitment tools for sourcing, interviewing, and candidate relationship management.
- Interest in employer branding and local outreach initiatives to attract technical and plant-based talent.
- Ability to remain flexible and shift focus to support urgent manufacturing or plant hiring needs as business priorities evolve.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling multiple requisitions and stakeholders.

Work EnvironmentTemp-to-hire, 100% onsite in a manufacturing environment (215 employees, growing rapidly with a focus on engineering hiring). Flexible start time (7:30-8:30 AM). Occasional travel to a nearby parent site for monthly HR meetings. Reports into recruitment, working closely with a recruitment manager, coordinator (being hired), and a broader HR team. Fast-paced, production-driven environment with frequent interaction across engineering and shop floor teams. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
