A Senior Network Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for overseeing the configuration review and quality validation of enterprise network devices prior to deployment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring devices from Fortinet, Juniper, and Cradlepoint meet strict standards, runbooks, and customer specifications. The role requires a high level of technical expertise in network security and infrastructure, serving as a final gatekeeper to guarantee device readiness and consistency across the staging lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive quality assurance reviews of Fortinet, Juniper, and Cradlepoint network device configurations before shipment.
  • Verify device configurations against documented 35-step staging and configuration procedures, ensuring compliance and identifying deviations.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to resolve configuration discrepancies, gaps, and misconfigurations identified during reviews.
  • Support engineers during configuration and staging processes through real-time oversight, reinforcing adherence to protocols without direct task management.
  • Review and provide expert input on device configuration runbooks, operational procedures, and quality assurance playbooks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and update documentation to align with evolving best practices and customer needs.
  • Act as a technical representative for customers, clearly communicating QA findings, process updates, and resolution strategies.
  • Participate in technical discussions regarding device readiness, providing verbal and written status updates to internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and logistics teams to ensure timely device review and approval processes.
  • Mentor junior team members on quality standards, network configuration practices, and compliance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet security platforms, including FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
  • Strong knowledge of Juniper wireless access point configurations and standards.
  • Proven experience with Cradlepoint networking solutions, including review and validation tasks.
  • Ability to interpret complex network device configurations across multiple vendor platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise network architecture, including routing, segmentation, VPN, SD-WAN, and security policies.
  • Minimum of 8 years in network engineering or related fields, with at least 3 years at a senior or architect level.
  • Demonstrated success in technical quality assurance in large-scale deployment environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to detect subtle configuration issues affecting security, performance, or compliance.
  • Experience reviewing and developing technical runbooks, SOPs, and configuration playbooks.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of providing clear feedback and technical guidance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
