The Senior SAP Applications Development Analyst serves as a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise SAP applications, with a primary focus on the SAP S/4HANA platform. This role provides senior-level technical leadership, partners closely with business stakeholders, and mentors development staff while ensuring system performance, security, and scalability in a regulated, mission-critical environment.
The position supports SAP S/4HANA applications within a private cloud (NS2) environment and contributes to delivering high-quality, secure solutions aligned with organizational and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of complex SAP S/4HANA solutions.
Serve as a technical SME for SAP application development and integration across multiple SAP modules.
Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Design and implement well-documented solutions involving cross-module integration.
Provide architectural input and technical guidance to improve application functionality and performance.
Mentor junior developers and lead code reviews, quality assurance, and best-practice adoption.
Identify, remediate, and prevent application security vulnerabilities.
Apply application patches and coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance.
Stay current with SAP roadmaps, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Support SAP S/4HANA systems in a secure, regulated private cloud environment.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of direct experience in SAP application development, implementation, or support.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
(or equivalent experience: certification or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
Strong understanding of enterprise systems analysis and design methodologies.
Experience working directly with business users and cross-functional technical teams.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as business needs require.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Deep hands-on experience with:
ABAP (Classic / ABAP on HANA)
SAP BTP Integration Suite
OData services and Fiori/UI5 integrations
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
BW/4HANA
Experience with SAP core modules: FI, MM, SD, PP, CO.
Proficiency in one or more of the following: SQL, Python, Java, HTML.
Experience leading or contributing to ERP implementations, upgrades, or simulations.
Knowledge of manufacturing environments, equipment, or DOE/federal systems.
Demonstrated initiative in maintaining technical expertise through training or certifications.
