Title: Enterprise Architect - Epic Migration

Overview
We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to lead the technical strategy and architecture for a large-scale migration from Cerner to Epic (Epic-hosted) across our health system. The ideal candidate combines deep application, system, and network architecture expertise with knowledge of Epic environment and provider-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own a future-proof target-state architecture for the Cerner-to-Epic transition, including Epic-hosted models and its integration to on-prem and cloud(Google Cloud Platform/AWS/Azure) environments.
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions to support Epic, ancillary systems, and clinical workflows.
- Partner with Clinical, IT, and Operations leaders to translate clinical and business requirements into scalable, secure, and performant solutions.
- Oversee integration patterns between Epic and legacy/third-party systems (HIE, imaging, lab, rev cycle, population health, patient access, etc.).
- Establish standards, reference architectures, and guardrails for Epic-related projects and provider applications.
- Provide architectural governance and review for key projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise roadmaps and cybersecurity policies.
- Collaborate with various enterprise cross functional teams on various sub-projects and tasks
- Support cutover, go-live, and stabilization planning with a focus on resiliency, performance, and user experience.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in application and/or system architecture within a healthcare provider or health system environment.
- Strong background in network design supporting clinical applications, including redundancy, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience leading or supporting large EHR transformations or Epic implementations.
- Deep understanding of healthcare workflows, data standards, and integration patterns (e.g., HL7, FHIR, APIs).
- Experience in designing RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party healthcare applications.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and highly available EHR solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clinicians, executives, and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic-hosted models (e.g., Epic data center connectivity, hyperspace performance, network readiness).
- Prior role as Enterprise, Solution, or Domain Architect in a medium-to-large health system.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Epic, network, or cloud certifications)
