Purpose & ObjectivesThe purpose of this SOW is to engage a UI Designer ("Contractor") to design and deliver UI wireframes and related artifacts to support discovery, alignment, usability validation, and handoff to development.
Primary Objectives- Define and validate user journeys and task flows for [target users/personas].
- Produce low- and high-fidelity wireframes for agreed scope.
- Deliver an interactive prototype suitable for stakeholder reviews and usability testing.
- Ensure designs are accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA), responsive, and feasible for implementation within the target tech stack.
- Provide a complete handoff package (annotations, specs, design tokens/styles).
2) Scope of Work2.1 In-Scope Activities- Discovery & Alignment
- Review business goals, existing research, analytics, and constraints.
- Stakeholder interviews/workshops (up to 6 sessions).
- Define target users/personas and key use cases.
- Information Architecture & Flows
- Site/app map and navigation structure.
- Task flows and success criteria for [#] core journeys.
- Wireframing
- Low-fidelity wireframes for [#] screens (mobile/tablet/desktop breakpoints as applicable).
- High-fidelity wireframes for [subset of #] priority screens (visual hierarchy, interaction states).
- Prototyping
- Clickable prototype(s) in Figma (or [Tool]) for stakeholder demos and usability testing.
- Design Documentation
- UI annotations, interaction notes (states, errors, empty states).
- Style tiles or starter design tokens (colors, typography, spacing).
- Component inventory and variants (e.g., buttons, forms, navigation).
- Validation
- Usability testing plan, script, and 2 moderated test rounds (5-8 users/round).
- Accessibility review (WCAG 2.2 AA) with findings & remediation recommendations.
- Handoff
- Specs/redlines, exportable assets, and dev-ready Figma components/styles.
- Dev walkthrough session(s) and Q&A (up to 3 sessions).
2.2 Out of Scope- Brand identity creation (logo, brand voice) unless explicitly added via change order.
- Full visual UI design system beyond defined tokens/components for wireframes.
- Front-end engineering or production code (except where noted for feasibility guidance).
- Backend services, analytics implementation, or data engineering.
- Localization, complex motion design, and illustrations unless added via change order.
3) DeliverablesDiscovery Summary (personas, problem statements, goals, constraints) - PDF/Confluence.IA & User Flows - Diagrams (Figma/Miro + export).Low-Fi Wireframes - [#] screens across priority flows, responsive breakpoints.High-Fi Wireframes - [#] priority screens with UI states and annotations.Interactive Prototype - Figma links for review & testing.Usability Test Pack - plan, script, participant profiles, and findings report with recommendations.Accessibility Review - WCAG 2.2 AA checklist & remediation notes.Design Tokens & Style Tiles - color, type, spacing, grid, elevation.Component Inventory - core components with variants and usage notes.Dev Handoff Package - specs/redlines, assets, and recorded walkthrough.Status Reports - weekly (1-2 pages) + dashboard.
