Job Title: Senior Data Architect - Healthcare
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 7 Months (Contract-to-Hire)
 
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to support large-scale enterprise data architecture and modernization initiatives within the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in healthcare payer data, particularly Claims Processing, Claims Adjudication, Pharmacy Claims, and Member/Enrollment data.
The resource will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Interoperability Architecture, and Data Engineering teams to design and support enterprise data solutions, data integration, and interoperability initiatives involving internal and external data exchanges.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and support enterprise-level data architecture solutions for healthcare claims, pharmacy, and member/enrollment data domains.
  • Lead and contribute to large-scale data architecture implementation and modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and align data architecture strategies across Data Warehousing, Data Lakehouse, and Event-Driven/Event-Based architectures.
  • Work with healthcare claims processing and adjudication workflows, ensuring effective data architecture and integration.
  • Support internal and external data interchange initiatives involving claims, membership, and pharmacy-related information.
  • Leverage Snowflake capabilities for enterprise analytical data solutions, including data sharing and data integration.
  • Collaborate with enterprise data architects, interoperability architects, and data engineering teams.
  • Support healthcare interoperability initiatives involving FHIR standards and API-based integrations.
  • Provide architectural guidance and contribute to enterprise data architecture decisions.
 
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Architecture, or related roles.
  • Strong healthcare payer or health insurance domain experience.
  • Extensive understanding of healthcare claims processing, claims adjudication, and related workflows.
  • Strong experience in at least one or two of the following healthcare data domains, with familiarity across another:
    • Claims
    • Pharmacy Claims
    • Member/Enrollment
    • Provider Data
  • Experience with multiple data architecture patterns, including:
    • Enterprise Data Warehouse
    • Data Lakehouse
    • Event-Based Architecture
  • Familiarity with FHIR standards, healthcare interoperability, and APIs.
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale data architecture and supporting complex data interchange requirements.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Snowflake, particularly its analytical capabilities and data-sharing features.
  • Experience with MuleSoft and/or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of provider data structures, provider types, and provider practice workflows.
  • Provider credentialing experience is a plus.
  • Patoka experience or background is an added advantage.
