Duck Creek Project Manager (Billing)

Position
The Duck Creek Billing Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering billing-related projects within Company's Duck Creek platform environment. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure billing implementations and enhancements are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with Duck Creek Technologies particularly the Billing module and understands the nuances of insurance policy administration in a specialty lines or medical professional liability context.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management of Duck Creek Billing implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes, from initiation through go-live and post-launch support.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, and status reports for executive and stakeholder audiences.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, QA engineers, and Duck Creek subject matter experts to ensure cohesive delivery.
• Partner with Finance, Underwriting, and Operations teams to gather and validate billing requirements, ensuring alignment with business rules and regulatory obligations.
• Manage relationships with Duck Creek Technologies and other third-party vendors, holding partners accountable to contractual deliverables and SLAs.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, sprint planning sessions, and UAT cycles in close collaboration with business and technical teams.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve project risks, dependencies, and blockers in a timely manner.
• Drive change management efforts, including the development of training materials, user guides, and communication plans for billing system changes.
• Ensure all billing configurations adhere to compliance standards applicable to insurance carriers, including state-specific regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PMO's project delivery frameworks, templates, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in the insurance technology sector.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Duck Creek Technologies, with demonstrated expertise in the Billing module.
• Solid understanding of insurance billing concepts including premium billing, installment plans, payment processing, commission management, and accounts receivable.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-stakeholder technology projects on time and within budget.
• Proficiency with project management methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, and the ability to apply hybrid approaches as needed.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent project management tools.
• PMP certification or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical professional liability, specialty lines, or other complex commercial insurance lines.
• Familiarity with Duck Creek OnDemand (SaaS) deployment model.
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements across multiple states.
• Experience working within a PMO structure and contributing to governance frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
