Role Purpose:

• We are seeking a highly capable Technical Business Analyst (Contract) to support the design, specification, and delivery of API and integration capabilities across the organisation.
• This role will work within the API & Connectivity pillar to translate business needs, technical requirements, and integration patterns into clear, actionable artefacts for architecture and engineering teams.
• The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in defining end to end API flows, standardizing requirements capture across business units, ensuring alignment to the global integration model, and supporting delivery teams as they build out the unified API platform and associated services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements for APIs, integrations, and connectivity use cases
• Produce high quality artefacts (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, API behavior definitions, sequence flows, data mappings, service interaction diagrams)
• Analyse upstream/downstream system interactions and highlight impacts across domains, platforms, and business units
• Support architects and engineers in refining solution options, ensuring alignment with platform standards and reusable integration patterns
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and SMEs to clarify scope, dependencies, sequencing, and functional/non-functional needs
• Ensure all API and integration requirements meet security, data, regulatory, and resilience policies
• Facilitate workshops with business teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making
• Contribute to backlog shaping, estimation sessions, sprint planning, and readiness for delivery
• Maintain clear documentation and traceability across the integration lifecycle
• Act as a central coordination point for impacts, assumptions, dependencies, and cross-squad interactions related to connectivity work

Delivery Accountability:

• Support the end to end delivery of API and integration features across multiple initiatives
• Ensure requirements are fully understood, testable, and handed over cleanly to engineering teams
• Proactively identify gaps, delivery risks, and upstream/downstream impacts
• Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios based on API and workflow specifications
• Monitor progress, manage requirement-related queries, and maintain alignment between business intent and technical implementation

Experience & Capabilities:

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst on API, integration, or service based delivery programmes
• Proven ability to work with engineering, architecture, and product teams to define and refine API-level requirements
• Hands-on experience with API and integration programmes, API patterns and technical specifications, API design, and sequence/interaction flows
• Experience analyzing system integrations across multiple applications or business units
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with Azure API Management, integration platforms, or similar middleware advantageous
• Strong understanding of security, data governance, and operational resilience considerations for integrations
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills across business and technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous delivery environments
