Job Title: Sr. Principal Technologist – Cloud FinOps

Location: 100% Remote
Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Principal Technologist (FinOps) with strong experience in cloud cost management and governance. The candidate will work across AWS, Azure, and GCP to optimize cloud spending and improve financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement FinOps strategies to optimize cloud costs
Monitor cloud usage and identify cost-saving opportunities
Analyze and resolve cloud cost issues and anomalies
Support cloud governance and best practices
Manage cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Work with engineering, finance, and leadership teams
Improve cloud usage and resource optimization
Provide guidance on cost management and cloud best practices
Stay updated with latest FinOps tools and trends

Required Skills:

Strong experience in AWS and Azure (GCP is a plus)
Experience in FinOps and cloud cost optimization
Good understanding of cloud pricing models
Experience with cloud cost tools (Apptio, Cloudability preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in multi-cloud environments

Qualifications:

Experience in large enterprise environments
Proven experience in FinOps and cloud governance
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

FinOps Certified Practitioner (preferred, not required)
Strong knowledge of FinOps framework and best practices

Nice to Have:

Experience with cloud financial reporting and chargeback models
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
