Description
We are looking for a Network Engineer (ideally CCNA or CCNP certified currently) to support and enhance enterprise network operations in Lafayette, Louisiana. This role focuses on maintaining secure, reliable connectivity across critical infrastructure while partnering with technical teams to resolve complex network issues. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Cisco environments, firewall administration, and routing protocols in production settings.
Responsibilities:
Administer and optimize network infrastructure built on Cisco routing and switching technologies to ensure dependable performance and availability.
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls while maintaining secure access and traffic control policies.
Support routing operations by implementing and tuning Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for stable external and internal connectivity.
Investigate network incidents, identify root causes, and deliver timely resolution for connectivity, latency, and security-related issues.
Monitor network health and capacity, recommending improvements that strengthen resilience, scalability, and overall efficiency.
Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to plan, test, and deploy network changes with minimal operational disruption.
Maintain accurate technical documentation for configurations, topology, standards, and support procedures.
Participate in ongoing network upgrades and environment changes, including tasks related to platform or process updates when needed.
Requirements
Proven experience working as a Network Engineer in enterprise or multi-site environments.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco routers and broader Cisco networking technologies.
Experience administering Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA security platforms.
Solid understanding of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and practical routing troubleshooting methods.
Ability to diagnose and resolve network performance, connectivity, and firewall issues efficiently.
Familiarity with network documentation, change control practices, and operational support standards.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
