Description
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team in Galveston, Texas. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing and enhancing our IT infrastructure while ensuring optimal system performance and security. Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve complex system issues to maintain high levels of functionality and performance.
Develop and implement both short- and long-term IT designs that adhere to organizational and industry standards.
Prepare and update detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with technology standards and facilitating architecture reviews.
Create and manage technology roadmaps while maintaining infrastructure and business process audits.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry level team members, fostering growth and skill development.
Translate organizational objectives into actionable IT requirements and recommend solutions aligned with strategic goals.
Conduct quality assurance testing and develop comprehensive test plans based on thorough analysis of business needs.
Administer backup and restoration processes for hybrid cloud environments to ensure high availability.
Oversee Windows server management and administration while maintaining cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure.
Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware and conduct disaster recovery planning for hybrid cloud environments.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 5 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Strong expertise in Windows server administration and virtualization technologies.
Hands-on experience with cybersecurity incident management, disaster recovery, and mobile device management.
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including IPv4/6, VLANs, and VPN configurations.
Familiarity with tools such as PowerShell, Linux, Citrix Virtual Apps, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA or similar are preferred.
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and work in a collaborative environment.
