Aerospace Instrumentation Technician / Test & Instrumentation Technician
Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Instrumentation Technician to support aerospace test and engineering operations. This role involves building, installing, maintaining, and operating instrumentation systems used for data collection in test environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cable fabrication, instrumentation systems, and data acquisition (DAQ/DAS) with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the build, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used for engineering data collection
  • Perform aerospace cable fabrication and harness assembly for instrumentation setups
  • Assist instrumentation engineers in:
    • System preparation
    • Installation
    • Checkout and operation of instrumentation systems
  • Operate and maintain Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ/DAS) and recording equipment
  • Follow calibration, maintenance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure data accuracy and system reliability
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and support system validation activities
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards in test environments
  • Work collaboratively in a team-based engineering/test environment
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in instrumentation systems (installation, testing, maintenance)
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace cable fabrication, wiring, and harness assembly
  • Experience operating data acquisition systems (DAQ/DAS)
  • Ability to follow maintenance procedures, calibration processes, and SOPs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support test environments (lab, ground, or flight testing)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace or defense industry
  • Familiarity with:
    • Sensors and measurement systems
    • Instrumentation wiring and integration
  • Experience supporting flight test or ground test programs
Work Environment
  • Hands-on, lab/test environment
  • May require flexibility for test schedules and shifts
  • Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
