Title: Business Analyst - IT Infrastructure Planning
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a strategic Corporate Headquarters Relocation and Data Center Modernization Program. The successful candidate will partner with IT Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Security, Telecom, and Workplace Services to assess the current technology environment, gather business and technical requirements, perform infrastructure planning, and support the successful relocation of enterprise technology services.
This is not a traditional software/application Business Analyst role. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure initiatives, data center planning, office technology relocations, or IT facilities planning, with strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead requirements gathering sessions with IT Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Security, Telecom, and Workplace Services.
Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements for Corporate Headquarters and Data Center relocation initiatives.
Assess the existing technology environment and support planning activities including:
o Rack and cabinet requirements
o Network port counts
o Network closet (MDF/IDF) planning
o Telecom room requirements
o Space utilization
o Infrastructure capacity analysis
o Technology asset and equipment inventories
Document current-state and future-state infrastructure environments.
Support infrastructure inventory assessments and technology asset analysis.
Coordinate planning activities associated with office moves and technology relocation projects.
Identify infrastructure dependencies, planning assumptions, risks, and constraints.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops, planning meetings, and requirements review sessions.
Produce business requirements documents, process flows, meeting minutes, planning documentation, and executive presentations.
Maintain requirements traceability and project documentation throughout the planning lifecycle.
Partner with Project Managers to track action items, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and planning milestones.
Support vendor coordination, infrastructure planning documentation, and RFP activities when required.
Mandatory Qualifications:
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
Experience supporting enterprise IT Infrastructure, Data Center, Network Infrastructure, or Technology Modernization initiatives.
Strong experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
Experience performing infrastructure assessments, technology inventories, or capacity planning activities.
Experience working with cross-functional infrastructure and business teams.
Strong analytical, documentation, and business process analysis skills.
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and planning sessions.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio skills.
Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and documentation skills.
