**Overview:**
We are seeking a senior Healthcare Integration Architect to lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of clinical system interfaces within Oracle Millennium and related healthcare environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise with HL7 messaging, Oracle OpenLink, and a proven track record integrating complex clinical, ancillary, and third-party systems. This position requires a hands-on leader capable of both direct interface development and technical oversight within a collaborative team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the end-to-end architecture, development, and deployment of real-time and batch healthcare interfaces using Oracle OpenLink and Millennium.
- Design, build, and troubleshoot HL7 v2.x interfaces covering patient administration, orders, results, scheduling, documentation, and medication-related workflows.
- Configure and optimize data transformation rules, routing logic, code mappings, and protocol settings to enable seamless interoperability.
- Oversee the integration of Oracle Millennium with labs, radiology, pharmacy, billing, HIEs, and external service providers.
- Conduct requirements analysis, translate business needs into integration solutions, and create detailed interface design documentation.
- Resolve technical issues, including interface errors, data mapping discrepancies, and transport-level problems, with robust root-cause analysis.
- Proactively monitor interface environments, message queues, and exchange statistics to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
- Partner with application teams (e.g., PathNet, PharmNet, PowerChart) for cross-system integration and workflow alignment.
- Manage environment migration, release planning, and interface cutover activities.
- Create and maintain technical artifacts, support guides, and process documentation adhering to healthcare security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Participate in on-call rotation to address incident escalations and support mission-critical operations.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and knowledge transfer within the integration team.
**Required Qualifications:**
- U.S. Citizen
- 7+ years in healthcare systems integration
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with Oracle OpenLink in an architect, developer, or technical lead role
- In-depth knowledge of HL7 v2.x standards and experience implementing ADM, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, MDM and MFN messages
- Broad understanding of clinical and ancillary healthcare system workflows
- Experience integrating with diverse protocols: MLLP, TCP/IP, SFTP, web services (REST/SOAP), APIs
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, supporting, and optimizing healthcare interface solutions in high-availability settings
- Familiarity with Oracle Millennium application architecture and its key modules
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation
- Ability to conduct detailed interface validation, message tracing, and troubleshooting of acknowledgement (ACK) workflows
- Strong mentoring, technical documentation, and cross-team communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Exposure to Oracle Millennium PathNet, OPENEngine, and workflow optimization
- Prior experience with additional interface engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth)
- Knowledge of FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, or X12 standards
- Experience in behavioral/mental health or specialty care EHR environments
- Understanding of formal change management procedures and compliance-driven delivery
- Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-based healthcare integrations
- Certification in HL7, Oracle, or healthcare interoperability (e.g., ITIL, CPHIMS)
