Technical Writer

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to create clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for software applications, systems, and IT processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, SMEs, and project teams to translate complex technical information into well-structured documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including:

  • System and application documentation

  • User guides and manuals

  • API documentation

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Installation and configuration guides

• Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, and SMEs to gather and validate technical information.

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content.

• Ensure documentation meets organizational standards for quality, clarity, and consistency.

• Maintain document version control and update content as systems evolve.

• Support SDLC phases including requirements, development, testing, and release.

• Create diagrams, flowcharts, and process documentation as needed.

• Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accessibility, and documentation standards (where applicable).

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in IT or software environments.

• Strong writing, editing, and documentation skills.

• Experience documenting:

  • Software applications and systems

  • Technical processes and workflows

  • APIs and integrations (preferred)

• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.

• Experience working with documentation tools such as MS Word, Confluence, SharePoint, or Adobe FrameMaker.

• Ability to understand technical concepts quickly and work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in government, healthcare, or regulated environments.

• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG).

• Experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io).

• Familiarity with version control systems and documentation automation.

• Technical background or exposure to programming concepts.
