Job#: 3024560 Job Description: We are seeking a skilled
Network Cabling & Cloud Security Systems Technician to join our team at
Tight Technologies. This role focuses on installing and supporting a full range of
cloud-based security products, including IP cameras, access control systems, environmental sensors, and alarms. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with
low-voltage cabling,
camera mounting, and
access control systems, combined with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and physical security best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat6/Cat6a) for network and security systems.
- Mount and configure cloud-based cameras, access control panels, sensors, and related hardware.
- Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and adherence to industry standards.
- Integrate cloud security devices into client networks and verify connectivity to cloud services.
- Perform site surveys and assist in designing cabling layouts and device placement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation or connectivity issues.
- Document all installations, including diagrams, cable maps, and device configurations.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and client security requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely and accurate deployments.
Required Skills & Qualifications- 2+ years experience in low-voltage cabling and physical security installations.
- Strong knowledge of access control systems, IP cameras, and cloud-based security platforms.
- Familiarity with leading cloud security solutions (e.g., Verkada, Cisco Meraki, Avigilon Alta, etc.).
- Ability to mount cameras and devices securely on various surfaces.
- Proficient in cable termination, testing, and certification tools.
- Understanding of basic networking (IP addressing, PoE, VLANs).
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in varied environments.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications- Certification in cloud security systems or similar platforms.
- Experience with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
- Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI, or other compliance requirements for security systems.
- Familiarity with MSP workflows and documentation tools (IT Glue, Hudu).
- DCJS Electronic Security Locksmith Certification.
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, bend, and climb for extended periods.
