Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java API Developer for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Charlotte, NC. This is an 12+ month contract opportunity. This role will bridge the gap between design and implementation, providing web solutions involving collaboration, portals, enterprise search, and mobile functionality. The qualified candidate will work in an Agile/Scrum delivery model to develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors, with a focus on a modern Java stack including Spring, SpringBoot, and Microservices.
Responsibilities: - Develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors
- Provide guidance on industry best practices, guidelines and governance for web applications and web sites
- Manage latest requirements for cross-browser compatibility and page optimization
- Develop applications and sites to include social media and mobile functionality
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure end product is delivered with quality outcomes
- Perform benefit analysis for IT solutions and make recommendations for technology direction
- Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequently
- Maintain excellent knowledge base of industry trends and developments
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Demonstrated progressive experience in front-end and back-end development
- Strong experience with Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Reactive Programming, WebFlux, JPA, R2DBC, Microservices, and API Development
- Mastery of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and JS frameworks (jQuery, ember.js, angular.js, Foundation, Bootstrap), and JSON
- Advanced skills in object-oriented coding and scripting
- Skills in relational database modeling and creating advanced SQL queries/procedures
- Knowledge of source control concepts and repositories such as Git, SVN, or TFS
- Experience creating and executing unit tests using established unit test frameworks
Desired skills: - Experience with responsive web design, fluid layouts and positioning, including Mobile Interfaces
- Knowledge of SEO concepts and coding for Search Engine Optimization
- Knowledge of coding REST APIs, AJAX, and XML (XSD, XSL, XPATH)
- Ability to create in-house JavaScript libraries of reusable components
- Ability to set up, configure, and host websites with IIS and Apache
- Rapid prototyping skills with the ability to demonstrate website design/functionality
Pay range: $65 - $75 per hour
