All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back. Position Summary: US Product is responsible for developing, managing and positioning Franklin Templeton's products distributed in the US including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, collective investment trusts, retail models, custom indices and 529 plans. In addition, the team is responsible for implementing product actions related to ETFs and alternative investments. The team collaborates with Franklin Templeton's Specialist Investment Managers (SIMs) and the US Sales team to pursue long term growth and efficiencies with respect to Franklin Templeton's product set.
US Product is a strategic partner within US Distribution responsible for creating the product strategy for retail and institutional sales, which includes defining and implementing the product shelf offerings available in the US. The summer intern will be a key part of project teams working to integrate fund board policies aimed at saving millions of dollars annually for FT and bidding on opportunities involving billions in assets. Additionally, the summer intern will assist with projects related to optimizing and integrating our product offerings.
Team Culture: The US Product team partners extensively with US Distribution's sales teams, SIMs, and global product organizations. The team operates within a collaborative structure organized into a functional matrix that includes product strategy, product management, portfolio analysis and positioning, governance, and implementation. The team works cross-functionally to address the requirements of our sales teams, clients, and SIMs. Additionally, we are responsible for communication and reporting to Franklin Templeton's six fund boards on matters related to investment positioning, financials, and distribution partners.
An intern in this department can expect to learn: - Gain insight into the asset management industry and the functions of product strategy, management, and development
- Collaborate effectively with investment, product, and sales teams
- Develop a strong understanding of how regulatory policies and board governance shape product offerings and influence decision-making across the organization
Key Responsibilities Can Include: - Assist Product Management and Positioning with product optimization research and board proposals using industry tools and leveraging industry data
- Help Product Strategy with product data reporting and management reporting
- Support product governance committees and track product lifecycle actions across vehicles

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35-40 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $26 - $30 (dependent on location and function) USD per hour.
