Genesis10 is currently seeking a Principal Firco Software Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with a Major Financial Institution located in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. We are seeking a hands-on Principal Firco Software Engineer to lead the design, implementation, integration, and support of enterprise financial-crime screening solutions. This individual will serve as the technical authority for the Firco platform and work closely with compliance, application development, infrastructure, and production-support teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Firco products, sanctions and watchlist screening, payment processing, and large-scale banking environments.
Responsibilities: - Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and enhancement of Firco screening solutions
- Configure and support Firco products such as Firco Continuity, Firco Trust, Firco Compliance Link, and Firco Global WatchList
- Design solutions for real-time and batch screening of payments, customers, and transactions
- Integrate Firco with payment platforms, SWIFT messaging, APIs, databases, case-management systems, and downstream applications
- Configure filtering rules, matching algorithms, thresholds, watchlists, and alert workflows
- Improve screening accuracy while reducing false positives and unnecessary manual reviews
- Provide technical leadership for upgrades, migrations, patches, performance improvements, and platform modernization
- Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and integration issues
- Monitor platform availability, transaction-processing performance, screening effectiveness, and system capacity
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of critical production incidents
- Develop automation for deployments, configuration management, testing, monitoring, and operational support
- Partner with AML, sanctions, KYC, risk, and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions
- Establish engineering standards, technical documentation, support procedures, and platform roadmaps
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across development and support teams
- Ensure solutions meet security, audit, resiliency, disaster-recovery, and regulatory requirements
Requirements: - 10+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or application-support experience
- Significant hands-on experience implementing and supporting FircoSoft/Firco applications
- Strong knowledge of Firco Continuity and related Firco screening products
- Experience with sanctions screening, AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, watchlists, and financial-crime compliance
- Experience supporting high-volume, real-time payment or transaction-processing environments
- Knowledge of SWIFT payment messages and financial transaction formats
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix, SQL, relational databases, scripting, and application troubleshooting
- Experience integrating enterprise platforms through REST APIs, messaging technologies, file transfers, or middleware
- Experience with system upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Strong understanding of software-development, testing, release-management, and production-support processes
- Ability to lead technical discussions and communicate effectively with engineering, business, compliance, and leadership teams
Desired skills: - Experience within banking or financial services
- Knowledge of OFAC and other global sanctions requirements
- Experience with Java, Python, Shell scripting, or similar technologies
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other enterprise databases
- Familiarity with Kafka, MQ, SWIFT gateways, or payment-processing platforms
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Grafana
- Experience supporting regulatory audits and remediation initiatives
Pay range: $57.50 - $65.50 per hour
