Genesis10 is currently seeking a Firco Quality Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with a Major Financial Institution located in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves testing and validating Firco financial-crime and sanctions-screening applications. The successful candidate will develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for various screening processes, including payments and customers, while validating system integrations and regulatory changes. This position requires hands-on Firco experience and a strong background in testing complex banking applications related to financial transactions and sanctions screening.
Responsibilities: - Develop and execute test strategies, plans, scenarios, scripts, and cases for Firco applications
- Test Firco products such as Firco Continuity, Firco Trust, Firco Compliance Link, and Firco Global WatchList
- Validate real-time and batch screening of payments, customers, transactions, and watchlist data
- Test filtering rules, matching algorithms, thresholds, alert generation, and false-positive handling
- Verify payment-message processing, including SWIFT and ISO 20022 formats
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, performance, and user-acceptance testing
- Validate interfaces between Firco, payment platforms, databases, APIs, watchlists, case-management systems, and downstream applications
- Create test data covering sanctioned entities, names, aliases, addresses, countries, vessels, and other risk indicators
- Perform database and backend validation using SQL
- Automate repeatable test scenarios and incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Document defects clearly, track them through resolution, and perform retesting
- Analyze failed transactions, screening results, alerts, and system logs to identify root causes
- Work with developers, business analysts, compliance teams, and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
- Support application upgrades, regulatory changes, production releases, and post-implementation validation
- Maintain test evidence and documentation required for audits and regulatory reviews
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, test estimation, sprint planning, and release-readiness reviews
Requirements: - 5+ years of quality engineering or software-testing experience
- Hands-on testing experience with FircoSoft/Firco applications
- Experience testing Firco Continuity or similar sanctions and transaction-screening platforms
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions, watchlists, and financial-crime compliance
- Experience testing payment-processing systems, wire transfers, or SWIFT messages
- Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Proficiency in SQL and backend data validation
- Experience testing APIs, databases, batch files, and message-based integrations
- Experience with defect-management and test-management tools such as Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Desired skills: - Banking or financial-services experience
- Knowledge of OFAC and international sanctions requirements
- Experience with SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 payment-message formats
- Experience with test-automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Postman, REST Assured, or ReadyAPI
- Experience with Java, Python, or another scripting language
- Familiarity with MQ, Kafka, XML, JSON, APIs, and Linux/Unix
- Experience with performance-testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Git, and automated deployment pipelines
- Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance-remediation programs
Pay range: $42.85 - $50.85 per hour
