Job Description Everforth ECS is seeking a
Senior Enterprise Data Operations Support Engineer (Tier-3 Expert Engineering Support) to work in the National Capital Region covering the
Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
The Senior Enterprise Data Operations Support Engineer serves as tier-3 technical support for enterprise data products and services operating within the War Data Platform, working directly with product engineering and platform service teams to resolve the most complex and critical issues affecting data ingestion, platform operations, and customer-facing analytics services. This role is central to ensuring platform reliability and continuous service improvement across WDP's enterprise data environment.
Provides dedicated Tier-3 expert engineering support for enterprise data products and services operating within the War Data Platform and supports resolution of complex technical issues escalated from Tier-2 advanced technical support operations
Investigates platform incidents affecting enterprise data services by conducting detailed analysis of system behavior, reviewing operational logs, examining platform configurations, and identifying underlying causes of recurring technical issues affecting enterprise data workflows
Performs root cause analysis for critical or recurring service disruptions impacting enterprise data tools, ingestion processes, and customer-facing data services supporting enterprise mission analytics activities
Coordinates remediation activities with product engineering and platform service teams responsible for maintaining WDP data infrastructure and enterprise data tooling
Supports development and maintenance of reusable utilities, starter code, base libraries, and standardized connection methods that enable builders to integrate source systems and ingest data through approved WDP data acquisition mechanisms.
Documents engineering findings, remediation steps, and operational lessons learned within the centralized knowledge repository supporting enterprise data operations teams
Produces technical reports and service performance summaries describing recurring issues, resolution patterns, and recommended improvements supporting enterprise service level objectives
Collaborates with Tier-2 support personnel to strengthen troubleshooting procedures, improve escalation processes, and expand operational documentation supporting enterprise data product support services
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills Current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
10 or more years of experience in enterprise data engineering, data operations, platform support, or a closely related technical discipline
Holds an active DoW IAT Level II baseline certification, which must be one of the following: CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Cloud+, Cisco CCNA Security, GIAC GSEC, GIAC GCED, or ISC SSCP
Demonstrated experience providing Tier-3 expert-level engineering support for enterprise data platforms, including hands-on root cause analysis, incident investigation, and coordination of technical remediation activities
Experience troubleshooting data platform services using tools such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, IAM services, logging/monitoring platforms, and data observability tools
Experience supporting large-scale data ingestion pipelines, enterprise data tooling, and integration of source systems within cloud-based or hybrid enterprise data environments
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution
Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management)
Desired Skills Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
Prior experience supporting enterprise data operations within DoW, Intelligence Community, or Combatant Command environments
Familiarity with DoW Zero Trust strategy and enterprise security frameworks as applied to data platform operations and access management
Experience developing or maintaining standardized code utilities, base libraries, or data acquisition connectors used in support of large-scale, governed data platform environments
Experience with technical knowledge management systems, SLO performance reporting, and operational documentation practices within enterprise IT or data operations support contexts
Ability to define product requirements for semantic data access layers that help AI assistants, automated workflows, and agentic systems discover, interpret, and act on trusted enterprise data
