About the Role
Are you a tax professional looking for the perfect balance between high-level technical work and a personalized, "boutique" firm culture? We are a growing mid-sized CPA firm in Phoenix looking for a Tax Supervisor to join our collaborative team.
In this role, you won't just be a number. You will play a key part in client strategy, mentorship, and the overall growth of our firm. We offer a hybrid work schedule that respects your life outside the office while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
What You'll Do
- Review & Prep: Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Client Advisory: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive tax planning and consulting throughout the year.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise staff and senior accountants, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Research: Perform deep-dive tax research on complex issues to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Project Management: Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and workflow remains efficient.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting. We are open to more experienced candidates for higher-level placement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Credentials: CPA license is preferred but not required (we value your experience and technical expertise above all).
- Skills: Strong proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Vibe: Someone who thrives in a "boutique" environment-meaning you're adaptable, detail-oriented, and enjoy building relationships.
Why Join Us?
- True Hybrid Flexibility: A schedule that actually works for your lifestyle.
- Boutique Culture: The sophistication of a large firm with the agility and "family feel" of a smaller practice.
- Career Growth: Clear path to management and beyond as the firm continues to expand in the Phoenix market.
- Competitive Comp: Salary commensurate with experience plus a comprehensive benefits package.
