Location: Onsite in Orlando, FL
Duration : Full-time
Rate Range : $80-100k
Position Overview:
This role supports the design and development of advanced training and simulation systems that help ensure operational readiness for defense and government customers. The program involves translating engineering concepts into precise, production-ready technical drawings and 3D models that support the fabrication, assembly, construction, and long-term documentation of complex simulation and training system components.
As a Design Drafter, you will work closely with engineers and other technical stakeholders to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, redlines, calculations, existing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), converting those inputs into high-quality 2D and 3D CAD deliverables. These drawings and models are critical to ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and structural elements are clearly communicated and compliant with applicable drafting standards and best practices.
While the specific program details have not been released to the public yet, the work reflects a defense contractor's focus on delivering cost-effective, reliable training and simulation solutions that support national security objectives. The drawings produced in this role directly contribute to real-world training environments designed for accuracy, repeatability, and mission readiness.
Top Must-Haves:
Solidworks (3D strongly preferred)
Must have done design work for 2-3 years minimum. No fresh grads.
