Residential Security Technician

Location: West Palm Beach FL
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday

Overview

A residential security services provider is seeking an experienced Residential Security Technician to support customer installations and service calls throughout Broward County-from Deerfield Beach down to Hollywood and Pembroke Pines. Technicians are dispatched to jobs in clustered areas, prioritized close to home whenever possible.
This role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong customer service abilities and hands-on experience in residential security or CCTV installation.

Top Required Skills

Candidates must have all of the following:
  • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing CCTV systems, including IP cameras, VLAN configuration, and wireless networking.
  • 2+ years of low-voltage wiring experience, including cable runs and circuit work.
  • A personal vehicle capable of transporting a ladder 10ft or longer.
  • Availability to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Security system installation
  • CCTV systems
  • CAT5/CAT6 cabling
  • Honeywell or DSC alarm systems
  • IP camera setup
  • Access control
  • Troubleshooting and programming
  • Video surveillance systems
  • General cabling

Job Responsibilities

  • Install and service residential security systems, including alarms, video surveillance, CCTV, wireless keypads, and basic access devices.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
  • Maintain weekly inventory with 98%+ accuracy.
  • Pick up inventory once per week; complete quarterly inventory audits.
  • Use personal vehicle to travel from job to job.
  • Work at least 40 hours per week, dispatched either from home or from the office depending on scheduling systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working independently in the field.

Training

  • 2-3 weeks of on-the-job ride-along training with experienced technicians.
  • Must obtain FASA/BASA certification during the onboarding process (employer will guide through requirements).

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • High attention to detail, especially regarding inventory and quality.
  • Excellent communication and professionalism with customers.
  • Reliable transportation meeting ladder requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
