Quality Assurance Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Dania, FL that is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer.

Summary:
This is a hands-on and highly visible role covering the full testing spectrum including manual and exploratory testing of web applications, and automated test development. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of our systems to catch any complex defects that automated logic misses. Additionally, this role works directly with the Technology and Product teams on various projects beginning with requirement gathering through release.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Write and execute test plans and test cases for new features, bug fixes and regression coverage across web applications
* Identify opportunities to transition manual regression coverage into reliable, scalable automated tests using Mabl, owning the process from initial assessment through to full implementation
* Cover the full testing cycle across multiple environments: functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing against web User Interfaces (UIs)
* Document defects with clarity, accurately communicate business severity and user impact and actively partner with engineering squads to champion issues through to full resolution
* Participate in requirements and design reviews to flag testability issues and missing acceptance criteria before development begins
* Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines, ensuring regressions are surfaced prior to reaching production
* Establish, define and document automation standards and patterns to serve as a guide for broader engineering teams to follow
* Work with engineers to define and test integration points between Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and front-end applications, with a focus on catching cross-layer defects before they reach a release candidate

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree, or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
* Three (3) years of experience working in QA covering the full testing spectrum (manual, exploratory, and automated testing)
* Deep understanding of internet technologies, protocols and methodologies for delivering web-based products
* Foundation understanding of or exposure to embedding automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
* Proficiency with defect tracking tools such as Jira, and a demonstrated ability to clearly documents bugs, assess user impact and track issues through resolution
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organizational and strategic time management skills
* Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
* Four (4) years of experience working in QA covering the full testing spectrum (manual, exploratory, and automated testing)
* Two (2) years of experience using Mabl for automated end to end testing
* Demonstrated experience with Javascript
* Knowledge Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and best industry accessibility practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
