ZIO Technologies is a Maryland-based IT services firm supporting federal and state clients through staff augmentation and professional servives engagements. We specialize in Network and Infrastucture Engineering, Coud, DevOps, Data Solutions, and AI/ML. This role is a client-facing assignment supported and employed by ZIO Technologies.

ZIO is proud to represent the following job opportunity:


ZIO Technologies is seeking a Business Analyst for one of its esteemed clients with the State of Maryland. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days remote and 2 days on site in Annapolis. Local candidates only.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

2. Master's degree in information systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with court or legal background.

2. Ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology (IT).

Skills, Experience, and Capabilities:

1. Experience with:

  • UML and other tools for capturing and documenting user and functional requirements.

  • NIEM / JIEM data modeling.

  • Requirements capture and tracking software.

  • XML and SOAP protocol software.

  • Discussing, analyzing, and documenting high-level business requirements related to internal and external clients.

  • Integration patterns, web services, and APIs.

  • Odyssey Case Management System.

2. Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with peers, end users, vendor development staff, and management/judicial personnel.

  • Work effectively within a diverse IT organization.

  • Provide training and demonstrations related to integrations software.

3. Knowledge of:

  • Systems development life cycle principles and methodologies.

  • Database knowledge-logical and relational.

Scope of Work:

  1. Document existing systems/business processes.

  1. Interview users to determine functional requirements for new development and enhancement projects.

  1. Develop test plans, coordinate testing, and assist in project status tracking and reporting.

  1. Perform data analysis and develop database inquiries as needed.

  1. Provide support for systems development methodologies and Project Management Office standards.

  1. Serve as a liaison for data exchanges with justice partners, addressing changes required by legislation or business mandates.
