Role Summary

We are building a greenfield enterprise Policy Administration System (PAS) for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance using a microservices, API-first architecture on Microsoft .NET.
The Enterprise/Chief Architect will own the overall platform architecture, define standards and governance, align multiple engineering teams, and work closely with client stakeholders to ensure a scalable, secure, and production-ready platform.

Must-Have Skills

• 15+ years in software architecture with enterprise-level delivery leadership.
• Proven experience as Enterprise Architect / Chief Architect on microservices platforms.
• Strong expertise in .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6/7/8, Web APIs).
• Deep knowledge of microservices, API-first architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus).
• Strong understanding of non-functional architecture (security, scalability, resilience, observability).
• Mandatory P&C Insurance domain experience, especially policy lifecycle and PAS platforms.
• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the target-state architecture, standards, and governance for the PAS platform.
• Guide solution architecture across microservices, APIs, integrations, data, security, cloud, and DevOps.
• Review and approve high-level and low-level designs for core insurance workflows such as policy lifecycle, endorsements, renewals, and integrations.
• Establish API-first integration strategy, event-driven architecture patterns, and service boundaries.
• Drive non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, resilience, and observability.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to align architecture with business goals.
• Define CI/CD, DevOps standards, environment strategy, and operational readiness for production systems.
• Mentor architects and engineering leads while driving architecture best practices and platform consistency.

Nice to Have

• Azure cloud architecture (AKS, API Management, Service Bus, Key Vault, App Insights) or AWS equivalent.
• Experience integrating PAS with billing, claims, payments, and document systems.
• Knowledge of DDD, CQRS, multi-tenant architectures, and feature flags.
• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
