Note: Oil/ Gas/ Energy domain experience is always a big plus. The AI/ ML experience is much more important.

Job Description: We are looking for a Sr. Product Owner with at least 7+ years of IT experience. This resource must have strong recent AI/ Machine Learning (AI/ ML) project experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and technically savvy Senior Product Owner to lead the delivery of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI products that drive measurable business value across the enterprise. This role serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, data scientists, machine learning engineers, data engineers, and technology teams to translate business opportunities into scalable AI and advanced analytics solutions.

The Senior Product Owner will be responsible for defining product vision, managing the AI/ML product roadmap, prioritizing work based on business value, and ensuring successful delivery of data science solutions throughout the product lifecycle. This includes use cases involving predictive analytics, optimization, machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and intelligent automation.

The ideal candidate combines strong product management skills with a solid understanding of data science concepts, AI technologies, and the unique challenges associated with delivering and operationalizing AI products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for Data Science and AI initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects, and Business SMEs throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify high-value opportunities for advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions.
  • Lead Agile development process with a focus on Scrum framework adherence.
  • Define, articulate, and evolve product vision and strategy.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams for business goal alignment.
  • Guide product discovery and development with a user-centric approach.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Serve as a crucial link between development teams and stakeholders.
  • Utilize market analysis and customer feedback for informed product decisions.
  • Guarantee timely delivery of superior quality products.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years as a Product Owner in Agile settings, ideally in Data & Analytics / Oil & Gas / Energy Industry.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of Agile frameworks like Scrum, SAFe, Kanban.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA).
  • Demonstrated capability in data-driven decision-making and complex roadmap management.
  • Prior experience with Data & Analytics teams on Data Products is beneficial.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree in a related area.
  • Agile methodology certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO/PM).
