Fiber Splicer / Fiber Optic TechnicianLocation: Fayetteville, GA (On-site)

About the OpportunityWe are hiring experienced
Fiber Splicers to support a large-scale
data center construction project. This role is part of a newly expanded fiber cabling team due to additional project scope and increased workload.
This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced commercial construction environment, with opportunities to expand into additional scopes of work and future projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesFiber Installation & Termination- Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for single-mode and multi-mode fiber
- Terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords
- Terminate indoor tight-buffered fiber and outside plant (OSP) loose tube fiber
- Perform building entrance, maintenance space, and direct-buried splices
Splicing- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing on all fiber types
- Ribbon or fusion splicing (minimum experience splicing 24-count, single-strand armored fiber)
- Technicians using ribbon splicing must supply their own ribbon splicer
Testing & Troubleshooting- Perform fiber testing using OTDR and Fluke DTX equipment
- Troubleshoot MMF and SMF systems end-to-end and network-wide
- Identify and correct fiber faults including continuity, loss, and splice issues
Infrastructure & Cabling- Build and outfit telecom closets (racks, patch panels, backboards, grounding)
- Terminate CAT3 and CAT5 copper cabling (110/66 blocks)
- Label and document installations according to project standards
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of experience as a Fiber Splicer as a primary job function
- Fusion or ribbon splicing experience with 24-count fiber
- Experience in a data center construction environment
- Strong testing and troubleshooting experience using OTDR
- Ability to work day or night shift (currently nights required)
- Ability to work in outdoor and OSP environments
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards
- Proficiency with standard fiber and telecom tools
Preferred Qualifications- 3-5 years of fiber splicing experience
- Mechanical and fusion splicing expertise
- Outside Plant (OSP) and confined space entry experience
- Data center installation experience
- Industry certifications (FOA, Corning, or similar)
Tools & Technical Skills- Fusion and/or ribbon splicers
- OTDR and fiber test equipment
- Punch tools (110/66), crimp tools, cable strippers
- Standard telecom hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, levels, saws, etc.)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
