Role Overview
This entry-level position is for a Tier 1 Desktop Support role within an enterprise environment. The main purpose is to perform a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks, including analysis, documentation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PC hardware, operating systems, and software applications. The role involves providing first-line support, handling high-volume inbound calls, and offering strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide help to walk-in customers, answer user questions, and solve user problems.
- Repair computer software, perform software installations, and manage component replacement.
- Build and maintain operating system images, ensuring they are updated with necessary patches and applications.
- Ensure customer desktops or laptops are replaced, imaged, and configured according to schedule.
- Handle equipment disposal, including data deletion and documentation.
- Provide first-line support for various agencies, demonstrating excellent note-taking and ticketing skills within an ITIL framework.
- Manage a strong Windows environment with extensive use of Active Directory.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Must have experience in enterprise-level support within a Tier 1 environment, specifically with high call volumes rather than as a field technician.
Technical Skills: Strong background in Windows and extensive experience with Active Directory are required.
Certifications: A Security+ certification must be obtained within six months of the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of an active Security+ certification is preferred.
- Experience working in an ITIL shop with strong ticketing and documentation skills.
