Compensation: $39.40/hr W2 while on contract, $65k-75k upon conversion
Role Overview
This position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. The role is based in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC) and involves providing IT and communication support. This is a 9-month contract-to-hire opportunity within the Airborne, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AISR) Operations Support Cell.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network events and element management failures in real-time on a 24x7x365 basis.
- Create, update, and monitor incident tickets using ServiceNow/ITSM.
- Perform incident correlation, fault analysis, and proactive alarm analysis to resolve alarm conditions.
- Isolate root causes and coordinate the correction of fault situations within the infrastructure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues, identifying failed network elements such as systems, hardware, software, circuits, or facilities.
- Restore networks and services to full operation, coordinating with other service providers to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Provide timely situational awareness to leadership and impacted parties regarding outages and service degradations.
- Demonstrate proficiency with DISN functions, including routers, switches, crypto devices, and various network technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in network operations.
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, as well as be eligible for up to a Top Secret clearance.
Certifications: Must hold a DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) at the start date.
Technical Skills:- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management.
- Expertise in two or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, or Optical Switching.
- General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this contract position is $39.40 per hour. The anticipated conversion salary is between $60,000 and $75,000 annually, depending on the final labor category assessment (Entry, Journeyman, or Senior). Upon conversion, a shift differential may be applicable for swing or mid-shifts. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
