Role Overview
We are seeking a professional with strong communication skills and deep experience in Healthcare EDI file configuration, application administration, scripting and automation, and AWS infrastructure. This position is responsible for leading the creation, testing, and deployment of new EDI transmissions while supporting and maintaining existing ones. This role is central to a new project involving migration to a new claims system and its deployment into AWS. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and execute new business implementation and integration projects for EDI transactions, including 834, 835, 837, 270/271, and 276/277.
- Facilitate discussions with vendors and stakeholders to gather and document requirements for EDI and encounter implementations.
- Serve as the primary technical owner of all claims systems, including file ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance in-house automation scripts to support claims workflows and integrations.
- Lead technical onboarding for new clients, including AWS SFTP setup, file format validation, and test file processing.
- Manage and monitor the daily processing of healthcare claims, eligibility, and provider files.
- Proactively monitor system health and performance, responding to alerts and incidents to minimize service disruption.
- Support SOC and internal audit readiness by providing technical evidence related to claims systems and file processing.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for system architecture and data flows.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to support production environments and project goals.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 4-7 years of experience in IT operations or systems engineering.
- 2+ years of experience supporting a production application platform.
- 2+ years of EDI technical support experience within a healthcare payer organization or TPA.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure, including SFTP, Lambda, S3, and Transfer Family.
- 1+ years of experience managing and publishing FHIR APIs.
Technical Skills:- Expertise in EDI file formats: 837, 835, 834, 270/271, 999, and 276/277.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs using languages like Java, Python, or .NET.
- Knowledge of infrastructure platforms, including Windows and Linux OS.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, stakeholders, and vendors.
Education:- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications.
- Python scripting experience.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, claims clearinghouses, and SFTP.
Work Environment
This is a long-term contract role with the potential for permanent placement. The position is fully remote and requires candidates to be located in the EST or CST time zones. The role necessitates a private, secure home workspace with a reliable internet connection.
