Job#: 3027643 Job Description: Apex currently has a Solutions Architect opportunity open working remote.
Key Responsibilities- Translate business and operational needs (production targets, uptime, compliance, cost, safety) into clear architectural direction.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and product teams to ensure solutions deliver right-first-time outcomes and reduce rework or scope churn.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for industrial systems, delivering designs that are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and fit for 24x7 operations.
- Align solutions with enterprise and industrial reference architecture while preventing architectural drift and technical debt.
- Leverage Azure cloud and enterprise platforms to accelerate delivery of industrial digital use cases (e.g., asset performance, production reporting, analytics, predictive maintenance).
- Support "run-as-one" integration across value chains such as production, supply, maintenance, and commercial.
- Drive architectural decision-making that balances speed, cost, operational risk, safety, cybersecurity, and long-term sustainability.
- Communicate complex technical and architectural concepts clearly to operations leaders, engineers, IT teams, and executives.
Required Qualifications- Experience in solution or application architecture within industrial, oil & gas, utilities, or manufacturing environments
- Strong system design skills across distributed, hybrid OT/IT architectures
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platforms and enterprise integration patterns
- Experience integrating platforms such as ERP, EAM, MES, historians, analytics, or field data systems
- Ability to translate operational and business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Proven ability to influence architectural decisions across multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Prometheus IPS, Advanced Process Control Monitoring, Opentext
- Experience with industrial systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLC, MES, asset historians)
- Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and secure architecture practices
