We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to design, guide, and oversee the architecture of critical enterprise applications. This role requires technical depth across application frameworks, integration patterns, cloud platforms, and modern development practices. The Application Architect will partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support multi-tier and microservices-based architectures.
- Develop REST APIs and implement integration patterns.
- Architect and support cloud-native applications on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Design and manage event-driven, messaging systems like Kafka or MQ.
- Create architecture diagrams, design documentation, and solution roadmaps.
- Perform architectural reviews, analyze technical debt, and evaluate solution alternatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders, engineering teams, solution architects, and technical leads.
- Lead design decisions that align with enterprise strategy and standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 10+ years in software development and application design.
- 5+ years in an Application Architect, Technical Lead, or similar architecture role.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments.
Technical Skills:- Strong background in Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and enterprise application frameworks.
- Solid understanding of application security frameworks (OAuth2, SAML, JWT), scalability, and performance engineering.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration, middleware, and API gateways.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Proficiency with tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Maven/Gradle, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
Soft Skills:- Communication and presentation skills for interfacing with business and executive stakeholders.
- Leadership, mentoring, and decision-making abilities.
- Analytical skills to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Capability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform Architect, TOGAF, or SAFe Architect.
- Experience with application modernization or cloud migration programs.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design and API-first design and governance.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $65.00/hour and $70.24/hour.
