Senior Ping Engineer in the Southlake, TX, Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ areas with strong hands-on expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), specifically within the
Ping Identity suite. The ideal candidate is a proactive, independent technical contributor with excellent troubleshooting skills and strong communication abilities. This role offers the opportunity for contract-to-hire for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, implement, and support IAM solutions leveraging Ping Federate, PingAccess, and PingID.
- Troubleshoot complex authentication and federation issues across multi-tier environments.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor emerging security threats and help design or refine detection mechanisms.
- Support critical security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and related technologies.
- Conduct network trace analysis to resolve advanced authentication or security issues.
- Build trust with internal stakeholders through clear communication and high-quality technical delivery.
Required Qualifications- 5-8 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Ping Federate, PingAccess, PingID
- Authentication troubleshooting and federation protocols
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of:
- Linux
- L2/L3 firewalls and application-layer security
- VPNs
- IDS/IPS technologies
- Anti-malware tools, DDoS mitigation, anomaly detection
- Wireless and VoIP security
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-5 years of hands-on security implementation experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with HYPR or other passwordless authentication technologies.
- Background in threat analysis or penetration testing.
