Our client is seeking for an Shipping & Receiving Clerk, verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for global shipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Prepares shipments for delivery per sales orders. Inspects and verifies orders and condition. Corresponds with customers and personnel regarding tracking information and gathering of appropriate data for shipments. This includes customer appointed freight forwarders.
- Data entry into computer system for inventory, shipping/receiving documentation, and material resource planning (MRP). Maintain paperwork, file system and Excel spreadsheets as appropriate for shipping/receiving and inventory management (i.e. manual and computerized shipping log). Prepare packing list, shipping documentation, and customer invoices for shipping.
- Pull and stage work order parts and equipment for production floor and sales orders. Assemble and stage completed work and sales orders. Routes and picks up equipment, stock, and supplies to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Stock inventory and maintains inventory control system, i.e., FIFO.
- Operates forklift or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Occasional non-standard breaks and lunch periods may be required to meet shipping needs. Perform general maintenance of shipping/receiving areas to include mopping & sweeping, plus maintenance tasks throughout facility.
- Submit AES (Automated Export System) and ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) filing to appropriate government agency, prepare commercial invoices and packing lists, etc. for international shipments.
- Issue appropriate software licenses for released sales orders. Perform inventory transactions in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system (i.e. adjustments, issues etc.).
- Assist in assembly.
- Assist the production manager with preparation of month-end reports.
- Clean and maintain production areas, including mopping, sweeping and general maintenance tasks throughout facility as needed.
- Complete and submit all required documentation.
- Provide input to production manager on unique shipping/receiving issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Attendance of the IDEX HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) training is compulsory.
- Attendance of the North American Trade Compliance conference is compulsory.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and over three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply ISO quality system principles.
- Knowledge of and ability to use an ERP (Enterprise resource planning) system for performance of required activities.
- Knowledge of, and ability to use, Excel is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 60+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; and hazardous materials (cleaning solutions and coatings).
Salary: $44,000 - $48,000 (Depending on experience level).
